For too long my focus was always on training hard and eating clean.
And I’m sure it’s been yours too.
Most of us spend way too much time focusing on that and too little on recovery.
I’m talking from experience (myself and clients) and this may be a little to swallow.
If you take a small step back from all the effort toward training and nutrition and refocus some of that energy toward recovery techniques I promise you it’ll make a huge different to how you feel and perform.
There is a tonne of scientific literature linking consistent recovery methods to improved quality of life.
This week, add in 2-3 of these recovery protocols, even if it means shortening (or even skipping) a training session
Here are just some of the ways I practice recovery:
- Stretching
- Supplementation
- Foam Rolling
- Trigger Point Work
- Weekly Massages
- Hot Therapy (sauna for example)
- Cold Therapy (cold showers)
- Low Intensity Cardio
- Sunlight Exposure
- Nasal-Only-Breathing
